Affordable Rent Scheme
The Affordable Rent Scheme is a scheme that offers properties at 80% of the open market value. The scheme is aimed at those who are unable to rent on the open market.
There are certain criteria you must meet in order to be eligible for an Affordable Rent property. To qualify, you must:
- Have a household income of no more than the average for your area, and more than 30 times the monthly rent amount (see individual properties for specific details).
- Be able to pass a credit check.
- Be in permanent employment.
- Not be in receipt of Housing Benefit/ Local Housing Allowance
- Have the funds available for; one months rent in advance, administration fee and the bond
The Affordable Rent Scheme has a simple online application form to fill out. Once the submission date closed, our team will then determine which applicants are successful based on a point scoring system. This is used to identify peoples housing needs. If your application is successful, you will be offered the property. This means you will be able to view it and decide whether you would like to move in or not. Affordable Rent is available on several new build homes, which gives you the opportunity to live in a brand new home.

Market Rent properties are available to anyone in permanent employment and who meet the minimum household income (30 times the monthly rent). These properties are perfect for those who can afford to rent on the open market. You’ll enjoy several benefits as we own all our Market Rent properties. You’ll have access to a 24-hour repair helpline, and you will also benefit from a rolling tenancy after the first initial 6 months, meaning no extra administration costs when you choose to stay.

We currently have a beautiful 1-bedroom apartment in a converted chapel in Wortley near Leeds, where admin fees are refunded once the tenancy commences. The property features a double bedroom, fully equipped kitchen, parking and carpets. The property can be found here
